HBO Pilot: Laura Dern to attempt a new comedy series

Star Laura Dern and writer Mike White are teaming up to make a comedy pilot for HBO, whose track record has been nothing short of amazing, with True Blood and Hung striking ratings gold. Dern hasn’t acted much recently, but she did win a Golden Globe for Recount, an HBO movie.
The project is called Enlightened (tentative title) and will portray Dern as a self-destructive woman whose spiritual awakening leads her to try to lead a better life, according to the article in the Hollywood Reporter (usually reliable with news like this).
Production is to begin in early December, with episodes starting early next year more than likely. We’re looking forward to seeing what else HBO can come up with to wile away the nights.
