Review: The Best Friday Night Cable TV Show
Monk, is the best Friday night cable television show! The characters are well developed and unlike many tv shows, have been since the very first episode. Tony Shaloub plays the the Obsessive Compulsive detective, Adrian Monk, so well that it's hard to believe he is just a fictional character. Captain Stottlemeyer, played by Ted Levine, is the perfect level headed counter-weight, with the patience of a saint when it comes to dealing with all of Monk's quirks. Although, Monk's first personal assistant Sharona was well cast, I do prefer Natalie as Monk's personal assitant. Natalie seems to be more patient with Monk's phobias in more of a motherly way, without making him feel akward. All of the supporting characters and guest stars play their roles just as well, which is a testament to the outstanding quality of this program. The writing and story lines have just the right amount of comedy and drama to make it an entertaining and enjoyable hour. Once you get the feel for this show, you may become slightly Obsessive Compulsive in that you'll never want to miss a minute of it. If you're not yet a fan, watch it, and you soon will be.
