The Nielsen Media Research company is saying United States households love their TV: according to their recent figures, there are over 114.9 million TV households as the new season is set to begin next month. That’s up 400,000 homes from last year’s figure, which also is (in the bad part of the news) the smallest increase in the past decade. It seems people both love TV, but newer watchers are harder to find.
It doesn’t help that truly high-quality TV shows are also harder to find than they used to be, in our opinion, but…we digress.
Viewers over age 2 have went up to 292 million, in a moderate increase as well, which is a good thing for the broadcasting industry as a whole, but still a bit below the figures they’d like to see going forward.
